Thank you to everyone for their tremendous support of my re-election campaign as your County Executive.  Among my supporters, I am proud to include the many volunteers helping with my campaign, concerned citizens who attend the debates, good neighbors who share their ideas and concerns, colleagues who publically recognize my leadership abilities and key leaders in the County who endorse my candidacy.

Together, we have fought hard in order to better serve the people of this great county. Please take the time to go to the polls on November 3, 2009 so we can continue to make Chautauqua County stronger.

Recognition of Greg's Accomplishments

New York State Senator Charles Schumer on Edwards' leadership at the opening of Methane to Electric Power Plant in Chautauqua County.

"I want to thank you, Greg, for your dynamic, forward-thinking, bipartisan, and just what's good about government--leadership in Chautauqua County.  I see County Executives all over the state, we have eighteen, and he is at the top of the list.  He has really done a great job here in every way, and this plant that we are dedicating today is an example of that because it is so forward-thinking"

New York State Senator, Cathy Young (click to hear Radio endorsement)

"While I have been fighting big government in Albany to bring relief to taxpayers, I have had a great partner doing the same in Chautauqua County Government - Greg Edwards.

As county executive, Greg Edwards has a proven track record of consolidating departments and eliminating unnecessary government jobs while still improving services. That's a record to be proud of.

But what's most impressive is that the tax rate has gone down every single year that Greg Edwards has been in office. He is a true taxpayers' watchdog.

So, on Election Day, please vote to re-elect Greg Edwards as County Executive.

U.S. Congressman Brian Higgins, in Silver Creek, New York

"…I just want to say that the County Executive Greg Edwards has done a great job here he has taken on leadership and coordinated the role of many, many various governmental agencies that are here, volunteer groups that are here to ensure that the people of  this section of Chautauqua County are taken care of…"

A successful businessman told me about 3 years ago that one of the biggest challenges that we face in Chautauqua County is that, "we do not dream big enough."

  • Reduced property taxes every year of my four year term as your County Executive despite reduction in sales taxes, increased demands by New York State, and increases in the cost of delivering services.
  • Delivered on my promises to increase economic development and improve services for our veterans, and seniors.
  • Made your government more accountable and efficient.
  • Secured the financial future of our County by hiring talented leaders, making employees accountable, and bringing private sector business principles to County operations.
  • Paid past due bills, invested in our savings, and made sure we have set aside the money necessary to pay our long term obligations.
  • Encouraged our locally owned businesses to grow and employ more people. The result of this effort has been a historic level of investment by businesses to our County.
