BAZZANI UNVEILS JOB-CREATION “GAME PLAN”

Former Niagara Falls basketball coach and Republican candidate for State Assembly, Dan Bazzani, today unveiled his five-point plan to create jobs for Niagara County.

Bazzani said returning economic prosperity back to Niagara Falls and Niagara County is one of his top priorities in running for Assembly.

“Many of us remember when Niagara was not only a leader in tourism but also in manufacturing.  We’ve been losing jobs now for years with no end in sight.  It’s absolutely killing us. I’m running because so many of our young people, so many of my former students and former players, are leaving the area never to return. I have an 18-year old daughter who just started her freshman year at UB.  Will she have an opportunity to pursue a career here when she graduates or will she leave the area also?” said Bazzani.  “We need to rebuild the economy and create jobs so our young people can have the choice to stay which I know many of them would like to do if they could.”

            The Bazzani Job-Creation Game Plan:

1.)                Create a tax-free zone in Niagara Falls to level the playing field between local business and the Seneca Nation.

2.)                Immediately return the 70 Megs of low-cost replacement and expansion power to the Niagara region that the state legislature transferred downstate this past legislative session. And work to retain more low-cost power for local businesses.

3.)                Use tax credits and eminent domain to encourage the tearing down of abandoned buildings, factories and other eyesores and provide tax credits and incentives for remediation and redevelopment.

4.)                Develop and market the Niagara Falls Airport as a potential international cargo hub with close proximity to the Canadian Border, Interstate Highway System, and Great Lakes.

5.)                Begin personal recruitment to the Niagara region of companies across the state, country and world looking to relocate.

Bazzani said personal recruitment of companies was something that has been overlooked.

“I’ve been a coach for many years but I’ll have no problem being a cheerleader for our region.  But I’ll still be a coach first and foremost, setting goals, preaching teamwork, being accountable and working hard.  We can do it, I know we can do it,” said Bazzani.

Bazzani said voters were tired of the broken promises and pledged a level of accountability he said is unheard of in the world of politics.

“Six years ago our current Assemblywoman promised jobs and economic prosperity. We haven’t seen it.  If I can’t get the job done in six years I’ll leave on my own,” said Bazzani.  “But I’ve always been an optimist and I know it can be done.”
