During his tenure as county legislator, Tim Kennedy has been an advocate for economic development, public safety and fiscal accountability.
One such development project is the South Park Avenue Revitalization Project. Tim led the charge on winning over $2.3 million to completely transform a 2 mile stretch of South Park Avenue. South Park Avenue will boast newly paved streets, crosswalks enhanced by tiles, signal improvements, sidewalk enhancements (including ADA-approved ramps for people with disabilities), and new landscaping. For updates on this project visit the South Park Avenue website.
Tim also fought hard to pass the Worker Training Law. This law is known as the Apprenticeship Law, because, it requires contractors that conduct business within Erie County, at the taxpayer's expense, to enact a Worker Training or Apprenticeship program. Enacted in 2006, this law provides the youth of our communities with opportunities to learn a skill or trade that otherwise would not be available. The aim of this law is to protect the workers of WNY and give our youth the chance to live and work in their hometown.
